Pentecost Special Service

Entering the Upper Room to Welcome Revival

We thank God that Pr. Anton Cruz came among us during the Pentecost. He shared that revival is not a sudden outburst, but a sustained state of life that draws near to God and abides in His Presence. Just as the disciples devoted themselves to prayer in the upper room (Acts 1:13–14), today’s Church must also return to the position of the “Upper Room!”

Revival begins with the right direction—not turning towards man, but towards God; becoming “Seekers,” and establishing a personal “download centre.” Just as Daniel and Jesus often went up the mountain to pray, we too must do the same.

Secondly, revival necessarily involves the work of the Holy Spirit. The Church must become “Soakers” in His Presence, dwelling in the power of the Spirit. As in the beginning of Genesis, where the Spirit hovered and brought forth life, so must we allow the Spirit to move in us!

Finally, revival is inseparable from the Word of God. Reading the Bible for one hour daily enables us to become “Speakers” of the Word, continually renewed. The foundation of the Moravian revival, too, was the unceasing daily reading of God’s Word.

May we—as individuals, families, and as a whole Church—return to the Upper Room and welcome the ever-flowing revival!
